The excerpt copied below is from a notice posted at AzBiz.com under Daily Territorial > Bankruptcies > bank 8/3/9 and bank 7/30/9 (h/t asingleblog). Whether or not this is another Brewer bankruptcy fraud case / creditor evasion tactic in the making remains to be seen, but anyone with vested interests may wish to consult their legal advisors pronto…

Cheryl K Copperstone is fairly entertaining too:

I was thinking of sending an e-mail to the lawyers representing Phil Brewer. But why warn some cheap skates. Phil Brewer will probably forget to pay them.
Putting it bluntly, they’re just a kettle of vultures capitalising on other people’s incompetence — who can’t even spell the word ‘court’…
Deja vu – another cross Big Pond bankruptcy. We need to know whether Phil Brewer as a Director of the two companies running the Durham and Chichester shops, can continue trading while filing for bankruptcy.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapter_13,_Title_11,_United_States_Code for a description. Seems a little like Chapter 11 for companies
Here is a useful site http://www.bankruptcyinformation.com/index.html
Here are two lists of exemptions Arizona http://www.bankruptcyinformation.com/AZ_exemp.htm and Federal http://www.bankruptcyinformation.com/exempt-supp.htm
But dischargeable debts can include business debts so where does that leave businesses?
Some debts are dischargeable (i.e., can be written off); others aren’t. There’s also a 60 day limit involved somewhere.
You can write off legal fees, I think.
Wonder why Mark B isn’t representing him 🙂
Yes, do come along now, Mark: this is your brother, after all! We all know how you love to offer pro bono service to worthy clients 😀
Good to see spckwatch back on the case: Be sure your sins
(yes, I’m on my lunchbreak)
Especially when they are not only your brother but your “personal hero” also…….
Following in your brother’s footsteps are you Phil. He obviously taught you nothing! USDAW legal team have been informed.
Sorry should have been Phil B!!
Miss Marple super-sleuth deserves our thanks for uncovering this.
Big time!
Have the folks who got in touch about Phil B trying to set up his house as a holiday home been informed? Might help them with any action they are trying to pursue.
Pax, Asingleblog is kind of dense. Totally Technophobe and totally stupid. Will give it a try.
I suppose asingleblog is allowed to say such things about asingleblog even though they’re not true; but if anyone else said them an asbo would be called for 😉
I found an email address on some of the Pima County docs and have sent a message to that one.
Oops. Meant the person behind the blog. Definitely not the contributors. 🙂
