Sorry ,watched a few seconds of this , had to stop I felt physically sick.
Be careful as Hereford Cathedral did not like the use of their premises, without permission, for this video. And SPCK is still on it. And the Tufton Street address. And the quote that they’re buying St Cuthbert’s, Bensham – no longer true. How times have moved on, and perhaps there is progress in that so much planned by the Brewers has not been achieved.
One minute was enough.
What arrogance (was going to say something else, but then didn’t want to be dragged down to the Brewers’ level).
POINTERS FOR JMB, (who believes in Biblical teaching)
G.B.`s demographical changes
mean shifts out of cities occurred.
We`ve churches without populations –
that`s true – but it isn`t absurd.
And then, on this matter of buildings,
you cannot tie God to one spot.(1)
For 2 thousand years there`ve been Christians.
Some built churches – but some did not.(2)
Re aliens dwelling among us,
the Bible advises – be kind.(3)
In Athens, Paul used their own systems
and structures to open folks` minds. (4)
You mention the Britons in mission.
Well, Carey`s example was good.
He studied the culture he lived in
and spoke in its tongues as you should.
Instead of which, you`ve been found wanting.
Most bookshops are lost and no more.
While those wraiths-of-Brewers remaining
hear creditors beat down your door.
Footnotes for the Biblically inclined:
1) Acts 17:24
2) 2Cor5:1, 1Peter2:5 and how about 2Sam7:5
3) Ex 23:9 and Ex 22:21
4) Acts 17:24 again
Looking at Google’s search results for “Rescuing Britain’s Christian Heritage” I think we can safely claim to have rescued that phrase from the Brewers.
Excerpts from this video were used in the BBC’s Sunday Programme report a while back, transcribed here by Dave Walker (as reposted at Cease & Desist – Dave’s original posts, sadly, remain unavailable).
VfT: what’s the situation re. St Cuthbert’s, please? It was reported as sold to SSG back in November 2007: Bensham’s historic church sold (story also picked up by Dave Walker: Church Commissioners sell church to SSG for £100)
It was reported in the local press (Evening Chronicle) last autumn that the church had been sold to someone who was opening a stained glass museum.
I think that “public interest” justifies it.
It’s also *my* copy:

With the correct metadata on it 🙂
Comment now attached to video:
“Note that this video is here as evidence for possible Action by the Legal and Regulatory Authorities, and that:
Hereford Cathedral did not like the use of their premises, without permission, for this video. And “SPCK” is still on it. And the Tufton Street address. And the quote that they’re buying St Cuthbert’s, Bensham – no longer true.

Actually I don’t know why this “Charitable Trust” still remains on YouTube. For all we know some unsuspecting person might be donating hard-earned money to the Brewers. The naughty part of me would like to see Pauline Edwards and our poets juxtaposed with the video.
As to St Cuthbert’s in Bensham – one member of the clergy said that never would a church be sold to a bunch of crooks.
VfT – thanks. Also reported by the BBC, Church is saved from demolition, and Gateshead Council, Landmark Church Saved from Demolition.
Any other Diocese willing to gift a church to the Brewers? Maybe Chichester? No anwer from that Bishop yet?
There was that radio clip where Mark Brewer was going to change the bookshop in Chichester into an orthodox church (small letters deliberate) with a bookstall in the back. I suppose he did bother to tell the Bishop of Chichester.
Asingleblog: we now have a dedicated Chichester page – feel free to comment on the Chichester situation there (link in the navbar top of every page)…

I’ve juxtaposed the Charity Commission investigation and bankruptcy bad faith warning in the Youtube Description. Give it a couple of weeks and we should be beating them in Goog.
If we have a few links to:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-AKdcW-jYb0
that should help.
